Project overview

Off hipages,
onto their own site.

Sting Landscapes runs two distinct trades — fencing and landscape construction — out of Geelong, and had been buying leads through hipages. The site needed to generate quote requests directly, explain both offerings clearly, and build trust on real proof of work rather than trade-template filler.

There was no brand guide. The client's logo — a bee mark beside a condensed uppercase wordmark — became the source of truth for the palette and the typography.

The palette came
out of the logo.

With no brand guide to work from, every value was sampled off the supplied bee mark and wordmark — so the site matches the ute, the invoice and the shirt without anyone having to specify it.

Amber / Gold
#E8A93C

Primary accent, straight off the bee. Every call to action, active nav underline and eyebrow label.

Ink
#1A1A1A

All text and dark bands. Near-black rather than pure black, to sit with the cream.

Cream
#F7F2E9

Page ground and header — warm enough to keep timber and turf photography natural.

Grey-purple
#6B6470

A rarely used tertiary from the logo. It never competes with amber.

One accent, one ink, one ground, one rarely-used tertiary. The discipline is what makes an amber button read as the action on every page.

Typography

Headings matched
to the wordmark.

The logo is set in condensed uppercase, so the headings are too — the page and the signage come from the same place. Body copy stays plainly legible underneath it.

Body — Inter

Fencing built to outlast the weather, paving, turf and garden beds — quality work across the whole property.Deliberately neutral. With headings this loud, the body face has one job: get read on a phone, in the sun, by someone deciding whether to call.

Positioning decisions

Three calls that
shaped the site.

01

Fencing first, not fencing only

The client wanted fencing to lead the nav, hero and service order. We did that — then rewrote the copy so landscaping never reads as the afterthought. Both trades get equal structural weight; fencing is simply listed first.

02

Build quality as its own section

Treated pine, re-treated cut ends, bitumen-sealed hardwood post bases, proper concrete footings. That detail came from the client and reads as genuine expertise, so it got a standalone trust section instead of being diluted into service copy.

03

One service-area page, real suburbs

Serviced suburbs were taken from real hipages review locations, then filled in across the Geelong–Werribee–Indented Head range. Grouped onto one page rather than a dozen thin near-duplicate suburb pages.

Proof, not padding

Curation was half the job.

Twenty-four hipages reviews were read and cut down to a set that spans fencing, paving and landscaping — so the testimonials don't accidentally argue that fencing is all they do.

Client-supplied job photos were culled the same way: judged on angle, light and whether a garden hose was lying through the shot. Unusable frames were left out rather than patched.

The intake form, the logo and the reviews carried three different name variants — “Stinga”, “Sting Fencing & Landscaping”, “Sting Landscapes”. The logo plus consistent hipages usage settled it.

How it got built.

Design here, code next door, live on Vercel — with the form tested by actually sending one.

01 — Design

Layout, component structure, and several rounds of hero copy tested for tone and accuracy before anything was built.

02 — Handoff

Design source handed to the build agent and converted into a standard Next.js App Router project.

03 — Deploy

GitHub connected, Vercel environment configured, form key set as a secret rather than committed.

04 — Verify

Mobile pass per page, honeypot and validation checked, and a real enquiry sent to confirm it lands in the right inbox.

The key decision

Protect the detail the client already knew.

A trade site can be written entirely out of adjectives — reliable, quality, professional. Sting Landscapes handed over something better: how they treat a cut end, what they do to a hardwood post before it goes in the ground. Keeping that specific, in its own section, is what separates this from a template.
